I had just moved to New York and was trying to find something fun to do. I love karaoke but I didn’t like any of the karaoke clubs I had been to up to that point. Most were too stuffy or just not my scene at all. I wanted something that would allow me to by myself. I just wanted to have fun and watch others have fun too. I decided to do a search for Karaoke Bars East Village and make a list of the ones that I wanted to go to. Planet Rose was the first one on my list and I didn’t have to go to any others after being there. For the first time since moving to New York, I felt like I had found my home away from home within those walls. Everyone was so natural and just concerned with having a good time, and that is definitely my kind of place!
