The Andes Mountains of Chile and Argentina provide a proliferation of ski resorts that have of recent promoted South America to a major ski destination in the world. Snow fall in the Andes and South America as a whole is enormous and very consistent yearly. Best skiing conditions in South America during its winter season (within the months of July to September) can be seen in the Andes. However, it is worth mentioning that the ski season can sometimes be extended into the month of October if the temperatures are low enough to support further backcountry explorations.
